Students who have not satisfied the Korean Language requirements : Issuance of Preliminary Certificate of Admission

1st year students

1. Nationality : International students holding foreign nationality whose parents both hold foreign nationality (i.e. non-Korean citizenship)
 Students or parents of students holding dual citizenship with Korean nationality are not eligible
 Students who have renounced their Korean citizenship or acquired foreign nationality : Both student and parents must have obtained foreign nationality prior to admission to high school, and must have renounced their Korean citizenship
 Any other family-related circumstances such as parents’ divorce/ remarriage/ death/ missing persons/ adoption etc. must be authenticated with supporting documents such as divorce certificate/ family relationship certificate/ single parent certificate/ custody certificate/ death certificate/ missing persons certificate, etc.
 If either parent legally remarries a Korean national, the student is not eligible
  If the student or parents of the student are naturalized Korean citizens as of the date of application, the student is not eligible

2. Qualifications: Prospective graduates of high school in Korea or abroad- Qualifications from home-schooling, cyber (online) schools, adult education, licensing examinations, etc. will not be accepted- Applicants under China’s “5-Year Vocational System” are eligible

<Additional Information on Eligibility>
If any applicant is found to have submitted forged documents, the applicant can be denied admission even after passing the screening process.

If found that the applicant does not meet the nationality or academic qualifications, the applicant can be denied admission even after passing the screening process.

During the screening process, submission of additional supporting documents may be required.

The applicant will bear all responsibility for any disadvantages caused by the submission of incorrect contact information or for being uncontactable.

Artwork or Portfolio (only for applicants of the College of Sports and Arts and College of Design)

In the case of departments that require submission of artwork or portfolio for an applicant’s 1st and 2nd choice majors, 2 separate artworks or portfolios must be submitted (students residing in China who have passed the on-site screening process are exempted)

Screening Process Type 1 (Entrance Exam)

Document screening + Entrance Exam (held simultaneously in Korea and China)
- Applicants in Korea will be able to take the exam at Hanyang University’s Seoul Campus
- Applicants in China will be able to take the exam at designated test centers (Beijing, Shanghai, etc.)
※ Applicants outside China (including Hong Kong and Macau) can have the exam replaced an online video interview (schedule of the interview will be determined at a later date and applicants will be notified via email)

 If either parent legally remarries a Korean national, the applicant is not eligible
 If the applicant or parents of the applicant are naturalized Korean citizens as of date of application, student is not eligible

2. Qualifications: Applicants who have completed at least 2 years (4 semesters – excluding vacation semesters) of study at a 4-year university at home or abroad, earned all credits required for all 4 semesters, and seek to transfer to their third year in an undergraduate program at Hanyang University
 In the case of 2 or 3-year universities, only graduates or prospective graduates can apply
  Admission will be denied if the applicant has not completed at least 2 years of study in the former university
  Credits to be transferred will be determined by the number of credits earned at the former university. Maximum credits transferred may vary according to department.
