한국언어문학과는 한국 문화의 기초가 되는 국어의 실체와 그것의 예술적 승화로 나타난 한국문학의 보편성과 특수성을 강의와 현장답사 등을 통하여 정밀하게 배우고 가르침으로써, 인문사회과학의 각 분야에 두루 적응할 수 있는 유능한 교양인과 우수한 국학 전문가를 양성합니다. 본 학과는 특히, 영광과 수난으로 점철된 오랜 역사에 걸쳐 말과 글이 민족 실존의 요람이며 민족정기의 최후 보루임을 입증한 선열들의 업적과 정신을 계승하며 발전시키는 데에 중심을 두고,‘일반 언어학 안의 국어학’, ‘세계 문학 안의 국문학’을 세워갈 수 있도록 하는 것을 교육하고 연구합니다.
한국언어문학과는 기존의 국어국문학과를 시대적인 요구에 부흥하여 2008년 새롭게 바꾼 학과명입니다. 기존의 국어국문학과가 가지는 근대국가적인 교육의 이념을 넘어 개인의 창의성과 주체성을 강화하고, 한국어와 한국문학을 민족 단위의 폐쇄적인 차원을 넘어 전지구적인 차원으로 그것을 확장하려는데 목적이 있습니다. 이미 이러한 취지하에 ERICA캠퍼스에서는 문과대학을 국제문화대학으로 명칭을 바꾸고 각 전공별로 시너지 효과를 내기위한 방안을 마련해 그것을 실천적으로 수행해 오고 있습니다. 이에 우리 구성원 모두가 글로벌한 시대에 맞는 새로운 학국어, 한국문학과 문화를 주창하기에 이른 것입니다.

The Department of Korean Language and Literature is the name of the Department of Korean Language and Literature that was newly changed in 2008 to meet the demands of the times. The purpose is to reinforce individual creativity and subjectivity beyond the modern national education ideology of the existing Korean Language and Literature Department, and to expand the Korean language and Korean literature to a global level beyond the national level. 국제문화대학 영미언어문화학과는 영미어문학 교육을 바탕으로 실용적인 언어 교육 및 심도 있는 문화교육을 병행하여 탄탄한 전공 지식의 기반 위에 외국어 구사 능력과 국제적 감각 및현실적인 문제 해결 능력을 갖춘 인재 배출을 목표로 하고 있다.
